nice track, I think it has some stuff that could be improved tho, for starters, it sounds like its around what, 142 bpm? eurobeat (at least the one I know of) usually sits around 155bpm, so in comparison it feels "slower" to other eurobeat tracks, which I see as a minus, given usually those tracks are meant to give a sense of speed

did you make the vocals with AI or just extremely bitcrushed someone's vocals? They need to be a bit louder imho, especially in the verses.

the guitar at 2:01 is extremely flat! distort it, compress it, add delay and reverb! it completely stops the flow of the track.

also, as a personal opinion, I think you should have a moment in which the bass isn't playing, to either add tension or to have a breathing moment. As it is arranged right now it doesn't feel like it's structured properly as a song, but maybe that was what you were going for?

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate you taking the time to listen and share your thoughts.

While I get where you're coming from with the BPM, this track was meant to deviate from some of the usual Eurobeat conventions. I was going for more of a "bootleg" feel, and slowing it down a bit was more-or-less part of embracing the imperfections. I actually started working on this track about 3-4 years ago and only recently re-opened the project and thought, "Huh, yeah, I should finish this". Even early on, it had that “wannabe Eurobeat” vibe, and I leaned into it intentionally, so the rough edges and deviations are part of its charm. Also, if you give "Eurobeat BPM" a quick Google... heh...

Regarding the vocals, it's not AI, but just my voice heavily modulated with Kerovee. I also added effects to give it a more stylised, almost “voice coming through a phone” sound. The low volume was intentional to mask imperfections and keep that surreal, fantastical vibe. If it were louder, it'd likely overpower the track, which wasn’t my goal.

The guitar solo was a last-minute addition, and while I get your point about it being flat, I wanted a raw, simple sound (and yes, there is reverb plus a few other things). As for the bass, I did experiment with taking it out for a "breathing" moment, but it didn't work for the flow I was going for. I wanted to maintain that driving energy throughout the track, even if it's unconventional.

Again, thanks for the critique! It's great to hear different perspectives, and I'll keep it in mind moving forward. At the same time, I'm sticking with some of these rough edges because they’re part of the vibe I was aiming for.

I liked those acid/synth stab sounds, how did you make them?

great drum processing and pads btw ^^

vekoN responds:

the stabs were actually from kiarchive! the "acid" basses were made using a sh-101 clone i made
